I can’t believe I am saying this, but the time has come for us to choose a preschool for Cassie. It seems like just yesterday she was learning to walk. How time flies! Since there have been so many details addressed and decisions made so far in this process (and Cassie hasn’t even started yet)…I’ve decided to tweet about my experiences, options I’ve had to weigh, tips and Cassie’s journey at school using #PreschoolDiaries. Follow along and comment as you wish!
I’m sure every parent appreciates the enormity of this decision. We have spent a lot of time considering and praying over it. I researched, toured and interviewed 8 different schools and finally narrowed it down to our top 3 choices.
As we thought more about it, we were able to eliminate one of the top 3 because the curriculum there would require Cassie to attend 5 days a week. Because Jesse is just 9 months old and is very attached to his big sister, we couldn’t imagine letting Cassie and Jesse spend so much time apart at this point. I think quality bonding time is so important now! So now we’re down to two choices, with a huge decision ahead of us. Our top 2 offer “pre”preschool programs that are 2-3 days a week for 3 hours, and slowly transition the separation experience. I have a feeling I’ll have a much harder time with leaving Cassie than she will, so I love the idea of being able to sit in a corner until we’re both comfortable. I’ll be in that corner until she’s 18.
Cassie LOVES to play the piano (what a surprise) so I’m sure there will be lots of musical talents discovered this fall at school.
