So I’m sitting in the waiting room of the endocrinologist and thought I would write a quick post. I’m here because, like many postpartum women, I need my thyroid checked and regulated. Contrary to the images we see of Hollywood starlets seemingly dropping baby weight overnight, a lot of women have a hard time dropping baby weight and don’t realize that their thyroid has made their metabolism sluggish as a result of pregnancy. Many women like me struggle with lack of energy, brittle hair and nails, and need to have a simple blood test to determine if they have this easily correctable problem. They say it takes as long to take it off as it did to put it on, and Jesse is 9 months old as I am seeing my pre-baby number appear on the scale! Thanks to my doctors for taking such good care of me. The rest — healthy eating habits and exercise — are all up to me.
